Harry Potter and Me

I have a problem with Harry Potter. Its the same problem that I have with most Sci-Fi too. I think the problem lies within how much I hear about a certain thing without getting the chance to actual look at it for myself. Harry Potter firmly falls into this boundary area. I have never read the books or even seen one of the films all the way through. But I feel that I know everything about it and really don't want to hear it anymore. And there's still one film to be released and 2 more DVD's to come out, and no doubt I'll have to be heavily involved at work because of this. Everyone has thispraise for J.K. Rowling and, although I'm not knocking her personally, some of it should not make any difference. The main one being that she wrote the books in a Coffee Shop in Edinburgh. If the book was about coffee shops then yes, it would have been an influence, but as it stands it make no difference whatsoever to the things in those books. She should have gone to Tesco's and got some Nescafé and then maybe come up with 7 book ideas, rather than drag one out for god knows how long.

Other things that fall into this category:
Doctor Who. (its just a programme)
Lord Of The Rings (films)
Arctic Monkeys

Screaming Masterpiece

Screaming Materpiece is the name of a documentary about music from Iceland. I have listened to the soundtrack on numerous occasions but only got round to watching the actual documentary yesterday. Its true that a lot of Icelandic music has a certain sound to it and you've seen Sigúr Rós being used to soundtrack numerous glaciers on the BBC. The film is definitely worth a watch if you are into any Icelandic artist. I've posted a clip from the film below. Its Bjórk live in New York, with the track 'All Is Full Of Love'. Hopefully it'll show people just how amazing she can be, and its not just 'the mad woman who did that sshh song'.
